Russia and China Strengthen Strategic Cooperation
The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Mishustin, met with the Chairman of the State Council of China, Li Qiang, to discuss the current state of Russian-Chinese relations and the directions for future development. As a result of the meeting, the parties signed a joint communiqué and a number of bilateral documents.
Both Moscow and Beijing issued joint statements regarding not only bilateral relations but also global political processes. According to the communiqué, Russia and China intend to deepen cooperation within the frameworks of BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), continue collaboration within international organizations to combat the politicization of their activities, and expand cooperation in protecting their citizens in third countries.
The parties reaffirmed their commitment to jointly combat the distortion of history and the revisionism of the outcomes of World War II. Moscow reiterated its commitment to the 'One China' principle, emphasizing that Taiwan is an inseparable part of China. In turn, Beijing declared its support for Russia's efforts aimed at preserving the country's security, stability, and sovereignty.
