End of Windows 10 Boosts Apple Computer Sales
The official end of support for the Windows 10 operating system in October 2025 has had a significant impact on the computer market, particularly driving an increase in Apple sales. According to Counterpoint Research, the company’s computer shipments grew by 14.9% in the third quarter compared to the same period last year. This information was reported by Tom’s Hardware.
Overall, the global computer market grew by 8.1%. This trend is largely attributed to many users needing to upgrade their devices to be compatible with Windows 11. Simultaneously, manufacturers have increased their shipments amid potential customs restrictions.
Lenovo leads the market with a 17.4% growth, while Apple ranks second with a 14.9% increase. Asus and HP also reported growth of 14% and 10%, respectively, while Dell's performance decreased by 0.9%.
Experts indicate that several users whose computers do not meet the technical requirements for Windows 11 (for instance, due to the absence of a TPM 2.0 chip) have preferred to switch to Mac computers running macOS.
It is noted that AI-powered computers have yet to become the main driving force in the market. Buyers continue to favor devices with significant memory or ample storage space. However, Counterpoint forecasts that by 2025, demand for AI computers will increase following the release of new chips from Qualcomm and Intel.
