Three Employees of Gyumri Municipality Arrested by Investigative Committee
During the preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated at the Shirak regional investigation department of the RA Investigative Committee, factual data was obtained indicating that officials of the Gyumri Municipality instructed several employees to direct the directors of kindergartens under their authority to send the children home and immediately proceed to the municipality with their staff, preventing the arrest of the community leader. This information comes from the Investigative Committee.
As a result of such an instruction, numerous kindergarten directors ceased work and, with their personnel, arrived at the area adjacent to the municipality to join the participants of the gathering.
During the preliminary investigation of the criminal case, public criminal prosecution has been initiated against four individuals under part 2 of Article 236 of the Criminal Code (preventing or coercing the holding of a gathering or participating in it, as well as materially motivating to participate in or refrain from participating in the gathering) and point 1 of part 2 of Article 486 (provoking interference in the administration of justice or examination of a case by a group of individuals based on prior agreement). Three employees of the municipality have been arrested.
This criminal case has been connected with the initiated criminal proceedings regarding participation in mass disturbances, provocation of interference with the administration of justice or examination of a case by a group of individuals based on prior agreement, and interference with the lawful official activities of a public official. The investigation is ongoing.
