Court Proceedings of Armenians in Azerbaijan Resemble Degrading Staged Rituals: Siranush Sahakyan
Azerbaijan deprives Armenian captives of the opportunity to have independent lawyers, and the judicial processes are neither independent nor impartial, resembling degrading staged rituals. This was stated by human rights defender Siranush Sahakyan at the Warsaw Forum.
“While the Azerbaijani government assures this forum that Armenian prisoners are benefiting from all rights, including the possibility of contacting their lawyers, Baku has denied my request, as an authorized representative of the hostages by the ECHR, to meet with the captives,” she noted.
