Investigation into the State Betrayal Case of a Foreign Ministry Employee Completed
The investigation into the case of Ashkhen Arakelyan, a Foreign Ministry employee accused of state betrayal, has been completed and sent to court. This information has been confirmed by the Investigative Committee.
Recall that on June 20, based on a report received from the National Security Service, the main department for the investigation of crimes against the state, constitutional order, and public safety of the Investigative Committee initiated a criminal proceeding under the first part of Article 418 and the first part of Article 424 of the Criminal Code. This proceeding relates to the alleged state betrayal committed by an employee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through providing conditions for spying and allowing a representative of a foreign state access to information containing state secrets, and assisting in engaging in hostile activities.
