Unjust World, We Spit on Your Forehead: Pashinyan on Issues in Armenia
Armenia fulfills no one’s demands. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a press briefing held in Strasbourg.
“When we are hit by a car, we are constantly hit by cars, and as a result of those hits, we start saying that human justice is lacking, this unjust world, we spit on your forehead, but we don’t look around us; maybe it’s because we are on the traffic lane of the highway. We say, people, let’s not just cross wherever we feel like it, but let’s use the pedestrian crossing. Is it possible that this means other drivers threatened us, and we are so weak that we’ve started to stop at a red light, crossing only at the pedestrian crossings?” Pashinyan stated.
According to him, “Peace is an unfamiliar concept for us; we do not know what peace is.”
“The Third Republic of Armenia has never known what peace is; our country has never had a peaceful life. We need to learn what a peaceful life means, and by the way, there’s no need to rush; we don’t need to hurry. It may even sound absurd, but can peace bring threats? However, peace does not mean that there will be no economic competition,” Pashinyan added.
