Trump Confirms First Military Aid Packages to Ukraine
The Trump administration has confirmed the first military aid packages to Ukraine, funded by European nations. This was reported by Reuters, citing sources.
The packages pertain to the resumption of arms supplies to Kyiv under the PURL new financial mechanism, which involves the transfer of weapons from U.S. arsenals with funding from NATO countries. It is noted that the Pentagon's Deputy Secretary Colbin has confirmed two aid packages worth approximately $500 million.
On August 4, the United States and NATO announced a new initiative to support Ukraine, launching the Ukraine Priorities Requirement List (PURL), aimed at the expedited delivery of American weapons to Ukraine. Zelensky reported that over $2 billion has already been received under the PURL program.
