Ministry of Defense Issues Statement

In recent days, there have been instances where individual citizens, various officials, and media representatives have attempted to access the border areas of Syunik and Gegharkunik, where provocations by the Azerbaijani armed forces have occurred. For security reasons, we strongly urge the public to refrain from traveling to these areas, where the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia are conducting combat duty on a round-the-clock basis.

As previously stated, in the absence of a peaceful resolution to the created situation, the Armed Forces of Armenia reserve the right to address the issue using any means, including force. In this context, the presence of civilians may only hinder the Armenian units from fulfilling their assigned tasks.

The forces of the Police of the Republic of Armenia and the Military Police of the Ministry of Defense have been instructed to prevent civilians from entering these areas. We call for understanding regarding these restrictions and urge everyone not to create unnecessary problems for the armed forces.
