Gegham Nazaryan on the Incident of Beating a Patrol Officer in Koy Community
The issue concerning the mayor of Koy and the incident involving the beating of patrol officers has raised concerns in society. Five individuals were arrested while another five were released, yet no charges have been filed against anyone. This was stated by MP Gegham Nazaryan during a session in the National Assembly, addressing Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Armen Mkrtchyan.
In his remarks, the MP questioned whether it does not worry the Deputy Minister that a patrol officer was beaten and no charges have been brought against anyone. “So what, should the public receive a signal that patrol officers can be beaten?” Nazaryan inquired.
Armen Mkrtchyan responded that a criminal investigation has been initiated regarding the incident. “If I’m not mistaken, we do not have a proven or established situation for the scenario you described,” the Deputy Minister stated, refraining from making any evaluations. He assured that if it is confirmed that a crime took place, appropriate consequences will follow.
