Azerbaijan Announces Over 100,000 Azerbaijanis Will Relocate to Armenia, Says Tatoyan
Azerbaijan has officially announced that it has completed the registration of over 100,000 so-called "Western Azerbaijanis" for relocation to Armenia, and the registration process is ongoing. This information was shared by former Armenian Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan.
This indicates that the Azerbaijani authorities continue to promote the "Western Azerbaijan" project, which is presumed to encompass the entirety of the Republic of Armenia. The ultimate goal of this project is to drastically change the demographic landscape in Armenia and achieve full occupation of the country.
According to official data, between 250 to 300 individuals approach the office of the "Western Azerbaijan" organization daily, expressing their desire to volunteer for registration. The more alarming aspect is that the registration includes not only those who left Armenia between 1988 and 1991 but also the descendants of those displaced before that period.
This serves as further evidence that the Azerbaijani authorities have no intention of halting their policy of occupying Armenia, a process that will continue as long as there is a government in Armenia that prioritizes remaining in power over state interests, and as long as personal sovereignty and party leadership are entrenched in the country.
It is also notable that the Azerbaijani government continues to issue ID cards (future passports) that indicate the individual's place of origin as "Western Azerbaijan" or one of the settlements in the Republic of Armenia. Attached is one such certificate.
