Arrest Warrant Issued for Azerbaijani Official in Russia
An arrest warrant has been issued in Russia for an Azerbaijani official.
Roman Simanduyev, a former employee of the Bashkortostan presidential administration and government, has been placed under federal wanted status and has been arrested in absentia in connection with a case regarding dual citizenship.
The Moscow Zamozkvoretsky District Court has ordered the arrest of Simanduyev, who previously served as the authorized representative of Bashkortostan during the presidency of Russia, on charges of concealing dual citizenship or foreign residence permits.
Earlier, on July 23, the court had also imposed a lien on his property in connection with this case. The former official has been included in federal wanted lists.
