Iran's Foreign Minister Writes to the EU, Urging Immediate Resumption of Negotiations
Following the European trio's initiation of the process to restore UN sanctions against Tehran, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has written a letter to the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, expressing his willingness to resume negotiations concerning Iran's nuclear program if the West is interested.
This was reported by Axios, citing diplomatic sources. Previously, the Iranian Foreign Minister stated that “Tehran will respond adequately to the illegal and unjust actions of European countries in order to protect and secure its national rights and interests.”
It is noteworthy that the “European trio” countries—France, Germany, and the United Kingdom—have informed the UN Security Council members about the activation of the mechanism for restoring sanctions against Iran.
