Ruben Hakobyan's Preventive Measure Revoked
The Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction has revoked the preventive measure of former National Assembly deputy Ruben Hakobyan.
According to Judge David Arghamanyan's decision, Hakobyan's measure was changed from detention to a prohibition on leaving the country, which resulted in him being released from the courtroom.
Previously, under a court ruling, Ruben Hakobyan had been detained for two months.
According to data from the Investigative Committee, Hakobyan made public calls to seize power in an interview with a media outlet on July 1, 2025. Based on this, on July 18, under the investigator's motion and the prosecutor's decision, public criminal proceedings were initiated against him under the second part of Article 422 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.
