Aliyev's Statement on Palestine

Azerbaijan's position is clear: an independent Palestinian state should be established, with East Jerusalem as its capital. This was stated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during a joint press conference with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in Cairo on June 8.

“It is necessary to stop the current tragedy in Gaza as soon as possible, to end the war, and all issues should be resolved through negotiations. I told President El Sisi that we support Egypt's efforts in this area, and the initiatives proposed by Egypt should be taken into account,” he emphasized.
