Araqchin Discusses Current State of Iran-U.S. Negotiations
Tehran has not yet reached the maturity point for effective negotiations with Washington, stated Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchin. Earlier, Iranian Vice President Mohammad Reza Arif indicated that Iran could engage in direct negotiations with the U.S. on nuclear issues if 'appropriate conditions' arise.
'Any negotiation requires time, and they all have a certain phase of maturity that must be reached. We have not yet reached that maturity point necessary for effective negotiations with the U.S.,' Araqchin said, as cited by the Iranian IRNA news agency.
