Archbishop Bagrat Files Lawsuit Against Civil Contract MP Vagharshak Hakobyan
The leader of the 'Holy Struggle' movement, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, has filed a lawsuit against Civil Contract MP Vagharshak Hakobyan for defamation and insult. This information has been obtained from the 'Datalex' judicial information system.
“Guided by Article 61, Part 1 of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, Article 63, Part 1, and Article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, we request that the defendant Vagharshak Sosik Hakobyan compensate the plaintiff Vazgen Petros Galstanyan in the amount of 3,000,000 AMD,” states the website.
Of the 3 million AMD, 2 million is for defamation and 1 million for insult. Earlier, it was reported that Archbishop Bagrat had also filed a lawsuit against Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan, MP Vahagn Aleksanyan from the National Assembly's Civil Contract faction, and several other political and public figures, demanding compensation for non-material damages caused by insults and defamation.
