Opposition Groups Are in Depression, Says Galjyan
The head of the Yerevan City Council 'Civil Contract' faction, Armen Galjyan, wrote on his Facebook page: 'The so-called opposition is falling into depression when good things happen in Armenia. They need to constantly talk about darkness, disaster, and oppression because that is the only background on which their “national salvation,” “sacred,” and “liberation” words can resonate. And when the people, whom they want to gather in the streets over their frustrations, go to a concert celebrating life, it irritates them.
When people do not see a celebration but rather the presence of the state, it disrupts the opposition’s mechanism. Because they perceive politics as a constant tragedy, where they are the only saviors. Jennifer Lopez’s concert demonstrated not only a cultural level but also a social and psychological reality and a significant multiplicative effect economically and cognitively.
And those who are bothered today that only 5% of the concert-goers attend their “miraculous rallies” would do well to ask themselves – are they offering anything to the people? Real ideas and a vision for the future, or merely pseudo-patriotic slogans without any concrete proposals? Real Armenia already exists. And either you adapt to it, or you will always remain on the sidelines.'
