Acrobatic Plane Crashes in Mallorca
Emergency services in Spain were searching on Sunday for two passengers of an acrobatic plane that crashed into the sea near the shores of Mallorca in the Balearic Islands, according to AFP.
Witnesses on boats in the area reported seeing the aircraft go down Saturday evening near the harbor of Sóller after performing a series of acrobatic maneuvers along the northern coast of the island.
Local media reported that one witness noted the plane had taken off about two hours earlier to perform tricks.
Rescue teams have found several pieces of the aircraft, but have not yet identified any immediate trace of the pilot or passenger.
