Neither the U.S. nor Israel Achieved Their Goals, Hence the Request for a Ceasefire: Iran's Foreign Ministry
U.S. and Israeli officials' rhetoric is not worthy of trust, and Iran is prepared to repel any potential new attacks from the United States and Israel. This was stated by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic, Lieutenant General Abdulrahim Mousavi, as reported by RIA Novosti.
“We do not trust the words and promises of the U.S. and the Zionist regime (Israel), we are fully prepared to repel their attack in the future,” the general said.
He noted that during the armed conflict with Iran, the U.S. and Israel demonstrated to the international community that they are not ready to uphold international law. “The enemy suffered serious losses and did not achieve its objectives, hence requested a ceasefire to save the Zionist regime,” he added.
It should be noted that earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump had announced his willingness to strike Iranian nuclear facilities again if he felt that Iran was seeking to restore its capabilities. Abbas Araghchi, head of the Islamic Republic's Foreign Ministry, promised that Tehran would respond decisively in the event of renewed aggression.
