Hajiyev's Response on Becoming a Platform for Russian-Ukrainian Negotiations
We are ready to host everyone, but we cannot force anyone to do so. For that, they need to contact us. This was stated by Hikmet Hajiyev, assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, in an interview with the German publication Berliner Zeitung, in response to the question of whether Baku could become a platform for negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
“Baku is already the diplomatic capital of the Caspian region. Negotiations have taken place here between Turkey and Israel. Discussions have also been held in Baku between Syria and Israel. Russia and the United States have conducted strategic discussions regarding missile defense in Baku. Recently, other diplomatic events have also been held in Baku. We are ready to host everyone, but we cannot force anyone to do so. They need to come to us or address this issue,” said Hikmet Hajiyev.
