EU Aims for Agreement with America While Preparing Countermeasures
The European Union has announced that it will continue to seek an agreement with the United States by August 1. This was stated in a social media post by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
"The imposition of 30% tariffs on EU exports would disrupt the transatlantic supply chains, harming businesses and consumers on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. By August 1, the EU will continue to try to reach an agreement with the U.S. while simultaneously preparing countermeasures to protect EU interests," the post reads.
Additionally, the President of the European Commission noted that the EU will take all necessary measures to protect its interests.
