Diogo Jota of Liverpool Dies in Car Accident
Diogo Jota, the midfielder for the Portugal national football team and Liverpool, has tragically passed away. The 28-year-old footballer died as a result of a car accident in the Zamora province in western Spain, according to the well-known online publication Marca. His brother also died in the incident alongside him.
Jota was best known for his performances with Liverpool, where he became an English champion and won the FA Cup and the EFL Cup. He had been with the Reds since 2020. Previously, Jota played for Wolverhampton, Atlético Madrid, Porto, and Paços de Ferreira.
With the Portugal national team, Jota won the UEFA Nations League twice.
