Iran's President Makes Statement

The dual standards policy of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has become a global security threat, Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian stated, expressing hope that the agency will abandon this approach, according to RIA Novosti.

"This dual standards policy creates serious threats to regional and global security. We expect the IAEA to respect the rights of sovereign states, abandon the application of double standards, and adequately defend the legitimate interests of all signatory countries to the IAEA's charter," Pezeshkian said.

Commenting on the actions of IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, Pezeshkian noted, "The position of the Iranian government, parliament, and people is as follows: Despite the established cooperation and interaction, the IAEA Director General has not acted objectively regarding the Islamic Republic's nuclear program. Such behavior is absolutely unacceptable to us. The actions of the representatives, which reflected the will of the Iranian people, were a natural response to this unfounded, destructive, and shameful decision of the IAEA Director General," he added.

It is also noteworthy that members of the Iranian parliament have confirmed the text of the bill to suspend cooperation between the Islamic Republic and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi indicated that the new law clarifies the framework of cooperation with the IAEA but does not completely close off avenues for cooperation, leaving decisions on this matter to the discretion of the country's Supreme National Security Council.
