Iran Refuses to Engage in Nuclear Program Talks with the U.S.

Iran will not participate in the nuclear program negotiations scheduled with the United States on June 15, according to reports from Interfax.ru.

Middle Eastern media have noted that the cessation of negotiations pertains not only to this phase but also to any future discussions regarding Iran's nuclear program.

It should be recalled that on the night of June 13, Israel struck Iranian territory, including nuclear facilities. Iran's Foreign Ministry has placed the blame for the escalation of the situation on the United States.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the United States was not involved in the strikes. “These actions were necessary as a form of self-defense,” Israel has informed the U.S.

President Donald Trump also mentioned that he was aware of the plans for the strikes and that they did not come as a surprise to him. Trump expressed hope that despite the current situation, negotiations regarding Iran's nuclear program would continue.

The sixth round of negotiations between Iran and the U.S. regarding the Iranian nuclear program was scheduled to take place in Oman on June 15.
