US to Reduce Military Aid to Ukraine
The US Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, has announced that military aid to Ukraine will be reduced in the upcoming defense budget, according to Associated Press. This may mean that Kyiv will receive fewer crucial air defense systems essential for withstanding the relentless barrage of Russian missiles.
"This is a budget cut. This administration has very different views on this conflict. We believe that a peaceful, negotiated settlement aligns with the interests of both sides and our country," Hegseth stated.
It is noteworthy that to date, the US has provided over $66 billion in aid to Ukraine since February 2022.
