California Files Lawsuit Against Trump
The Governor of California, Democrat Gavin Newsom, has filed a lawsuit against U.S. President Donald Trump, the Pentagon, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth regarding the deployment of National Guard troops in Los Angeles, reports AFP.
The lawsuit states that Trump has violated federal law and the Constitution. The California governor is seeking to overturn the deployment of National Guard troops.
Earlier, the U.S. federal government decided to double the number of National Guard troops stationed in Los Angeles, increasing it to 4,000, amidst protests against raids aimed at detecting undocumented immigrants.
