Russian Side to Hold Separate Meetings in Istanbul
The head of the Russian delegation, Vladimir Medinsky, will hold separate meetings with the Ukrainian side in Istanbul. This was reported by a source from RIA Novosti.
It was previously announced that the second round of negotiations would take place in Istanbul. The meeting is set to occur today at the Ciragan Palace. The start of the negotiations was scheduled for 13:00 Moscow time.
According to a source from Turkey's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the talks will also involve Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Intelligence Chief Ibrahim Kalin.
The Russian delegation is led by Medinsky and includes Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin, head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Igor Kostyukov, and Deputy Minister of Defense Alexander Fomin. The delegation arrived in Turkey yesterday evening.
It is worth noting that earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced that the Russian side is ready to present a memorandum on settlement to Ukraine. Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya stated that Moscow is offering to exchange documents that reflect the positions of both sides regarding the negotiation process.
