Ushakov Responds to Question About Possible Putin-Trump Meeting
No concrete arrangements have been made yet for a personal meeting between Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump. This was announced by Yuri Ushakov, assistant to the President of Russia.
According to him, such a meeting requires thorough preparation and should become a large-scale event that leads to serious outcomes.
“Ideas are floating in the air, that is understandable, but when there are certain results that can be discussed at the presidential level. In other words, there should be detailed preparation for this meeting,” Ushakov stated.
He added that teams of experts from the Kremlin and the White House should work on the preparation.
In response to a question about possible timelines for the meeting, Ushakov remarked that one can speculate but it is pointless. “One might guess that it could happen this year, for example. But, of course, that is not a certainty,” he said.
