Turkey Discovers Major Gas Field in the Black Sea, Erdoğan Reports
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has announced the discovery of a major gas field in the Black Sea, estimated to contain fuel valued at $30 billion.
“After 49 days of drilling and testing, we received good news. A new gas field has been discovered in the Black Sea. The volume is 75 billion cubic meters, and the economic value is $30 billion. This volume will be sufficient to supply our homes across Turkey for 3.5 years,” he stated.
According to the Turkish leader, the gas reserves in the Black Sea currently support 4 million homes with a supply of 9.5 billion cubic meters of gas. By 2028, he aims to quadruple this figure.
