Ukraine's concessions are inevitable: The Telegraph
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. President Donald Trump’s meeting in Rome may signal that a ceasefire in the war is closer than ever, yet it is unlikely to be a victory for Ukraine. This is reported by The Telegraph.
It is noted that at this stage, Ukraine's concessions are unavoidable. Russia is winning this war, and Trump is unlikely to intervene decisively in the confrontation.
“Even if he suddenly declares his intention to deploy American troops, which is the only way to stop Putin, he knows that Western European countries will not follow him into battle, as their ammunition is running low,” the article states.
According to the publication, Ukraine likely has no choice but to negotiate based on Trump’s latest peace proposals. This includes the de facto concession of most of the territories occupied by Russia.
