Criminal Proceedings Initiated Over Azerbaijani Blogger's Presence in Yerevan Center
Law enforcement agencies are investigating the circumstances surrounding the appearance of an Azerbaijani blogger in the center of Yerevan. A criminal case has been initiated by the Investigative Committee of Armenia. This was reported by the spokesperson for the committee, Kima Avdalyan, in an interview with Factinfo.
On March 25, a video was circulated on the internet showing a young Azerbaijani freely walking around the center of Yerevan, declaring that he is in a "historic city." The National Security Service (NSS) did not make any public statements regarding the incident for several days.
A criminal case has been initiated based on the characteristics of Article 422, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Armenia, which pertains to public calls aimed at seizing power, violating territorial integrity, or violently overturning the constitutional order, made using publicly displayed works, mass media, or information and communication technologies.
