Proceedings Continue in Baku on Appeals of 15 Armenian Prisoners
Proceedings in the Baku Court of Appeal continue regarding the appeals filed by 15 Armenian prisoners, including former leaders of Artsakh, condemned in the first instance, as reported by the Azerbaijani APA.
Davith Ishkhanian, the President of the National Assembly of Artsakh, who was sentenced to life imprisonment in Azerbaijan, stated in a voice message from prison in June that they have appealed their verdicts in the Court of Appeal. According to Ishkhanian, the appeal process is largely formal and they do not hold any expectations from the Azerbaijani justice system; rather, they are paving the way towards international courts with this step.
Baku has refused to provide the verdicts of the 15 Armenian prisoners held in Azerbaijani prisons.
