Defense Ministry Issues Statement
The Ministry of Defense of Armenia reports that the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan has once again disseminated misinformation. The Azerbaijani MoD's statement, claiming that at around 14:15 on March 19, Armenian Armed Forces units opened fire towards Azerbaijani positions located in the eastern section of the border, does not correspond to reality.
It should be noted that the government of the Republic of Armenia has proposed establishing a joint mechanism for investigating incidents of ceasefire violations and/or information related to such incidents, to which Azerbaijan has yet to respond.
The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia reaffirms its readiness to investigate the facts supporting the Azerbaijani MoD's statement, should they be provided to Armenia.
As of now, the Republic of Azerbaijan has not provided any factual data or justification regarding any violations of the ceasefire regime by the Armenian Armed Forces.
