Aliyev Calls for Arrest and Extradition of Serge Sargsyan and Robert Kocharyan to Azerbaijan
Aliyev has called on Pashinyan to arrest former Armenian presidents Robert Kocharyan and Serge Sargsyan, as well as other former leaders of the Artsakh war, and extradite them to Azerbaijan.
During the XII Global Forum held in Baku, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated that the draft peace agreement currently being discussed has been prepared by Baku and is largely agreed upon.
Aliyev accused them of war crimes and noted that their arrest would demonstrate Pashinyan's sincerity in establishing peace, as these former leaders have, according to him, created significant problems in the region.
Aliyev reiterated that Armenia must amend its constitution, as it poses “territorial demands against Azerbaijan.” He also stated that Armenia should open the “Zangezur” corridor, create a demilitarized zone, and dismantle border military infrastructure.
He warned that if Armenia does not fulfill these conditions, Azerbaijan may withdraw from the peace agreement.
