Prosecutor Claims Gagik Khachatryan is Faking Illness, Lawyer States

The prosecutor stated in court that Gagik Khachatryan, who is confined to a stretcher, is faking his condition, said Ara Ghazaryan, a member of the former head of the State Revenue Committee's legal team, at a press conference with journalists.

The legal team has filed a motion to lift the ban on Gagik Khachatryan's absence and allow him to travel to Germany for treatment.

Ghazaryan noted that they have appealed to the European Court of Human Rights and are awaiting a response regarding urgent measures.

It is worth mentioning that Gagik Khachatryan has been remanded in custody for two months, as reported by the Investigative Committee to Auroranews.

On September 1, Gagik Khachatryan was arrested, and the Investigative Committee filed a motion in court for his detention.

According to the Investigative Committee, investigative and procedural actions have been carried out in connection with cases of receiving large-scale bribes and money laundering at Khachatryan’s and his son’s residences, as well as in the offices and branches of about 21 companies associated with them.
