The Response Will Be Very Harsh: The Russian Foreign Ministry Issues Urgent Statement
The temporary chargé d'affaires of Germany has been informed that Russia decisively rejects Berlin's completely unfounded accusations regarding the incident that occurred in Leipzig, reports the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"Germany's anti-Russian actions will receive a harsh response. Berlin has deliberately initiated provocations aimed at undermining bilateral relations. The decision to close the Russian Consulate General in Bonn and the House of Russia in Berlin is a step toward the final severance of relations between Russia and Germany," the statement issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry says.
The ministry reports that the temporary chargé d'affaires of Germany was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry amid the backdrop of anti-Russian actions and statements by the German authorities.
Earlier, the German authorities identified two suspects in the drone incident at Leipzig Airport, according to the "Süddeutsche Zeitung," citing sources. The suspects are reportedly a citizen of Latvia of Russian descent and a resident of Belarus holding a Russian passport. On Tuesday, the German government officially accused Russia of the drone incident at Leipzig/Halle Airport and announced retaliatory measures.
