Trump Makes New Statement
U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that he wants to stop spending enormous amounts of money on Ukraine, while former U.S. leader Joe Biden was handing out money as if it were water. “I would like to see if we can stop these huge payments from the United States. Biden is wasting money like it’s water,” said Trump at the White House.
Trump emphasized that, unlike Europe, the U.S. has received nothing in return for its aid. Russia believes that supplying weapons to Ukraine hinders a resolution, directly pulls NATO countries into the conflict, and is “playing with fire.” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has noted that any cargo containing weapons for Ukraine will be a legitimate target for Russia. According to him, the U.S. and NATO are directly involved in the conflict, not only supplying weapons but also training personnel in the UK, Germany, Italy, and other countries. The Kremlin has stated that Western arms supplies to Ukraine do not contribute to negotiations and will have a negative impact.
