Macron Sets Conditions for Call with Putin
French President Emmanuel Macron has expressed a willingness to call Russian President Vladimir Putin, on the condition that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders agree to it. His remarks were quoted by Le Point.
“I am ready to speak with President Putin when President Zelensky, I, and our European partners consider it the right time,” Macron said.
Earlier, the French president had indicated his willingness to talk with his Russian counterpart “at the right moment.” According to Macron, this could occur in the upcoming phase of negotiations.
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov had previously commented on Macron's intentions, stating that no request for a phone call between the two leaders had been received.
