Criminal Charges Filed Against Three Supporters of 'Strong Armenia' Coalition

The investigation into a case of hooliganism committed by supporters of the 'Strong Armenia' coalition has been completed in the Lori regional investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee. This was reported by the Investigative Committee.

During the investigation, apparent factual evidence was obtained indicating that on May 31, 2026, during a campaign, supporters of the 'Strong Armenia' coalition were near the Sanahin station in Alaverdi city, where the depot's driver sounded a warning signal twice at three-minute intervals for safety reasons while reversing with an electric locomotive. In response, one of the participants, identified as V.P., made an offensive gesture.

Subsequently, V.P., G.Sh., L.N., and over ten other campaign participants ascended to the station's platform, where they shouted insults at the driver. V.P. and G.Sh. also grabbed and struck him, obstructing the normal work of the station's turnaround depot employees.

During the investigation, public criminal charges were initiated against L.N., V.P., and G.Sh. based on the decision of the supervising prosecutor under Article 297, Part 2, Clause 1 of the Criminal Code (hooliganism committed by a group of persons). Measures such as administrative supervision, bail, and a prohibition on leaving have been applied to them.

The criminal proceedings have been sent to the supervising prosecutor with a request for approval and further submission to the court for consideration.
