Lawyer Discusses the Health Condition of Gagik Khachatryan

Gagik Khachatryan has a disability status and requires care. This was announced by lawyer Yerem Sargsyan during a press conference, where he spoke about Khachatryan's health condition.

"We have requested his transfer to a medical facility and to hold hearings without his presence. Gagik Khachatryan has a disability due to musculoskeletal system issues. Those with such problems must have access to special accommodations. He requires constant care, which he has been deprived of since early yesterday morning," Sargsyan stated.

He emphasized that this constitutes a violation of Article 3 of the European Convention regarding inhumane treatment of individuals. Sargsyan asserted that Khachatryan's transfer from his home to the detention facility involved numerous medical violations.

Recall that Gagik Khachatryan has been detained for two months. This information was provided to Auroranews by the Investigative Committee. Khachatryan was arrested on September 1, and the Investigative Committee submitted a request to the court for his detention.

According to the Investigative Committee, investigative and procedural actions have been carried out at the residences of Khachatryan and his son, as well as at the offices and branches of about 21 companies linked to them, in connection with a criminal case initiated for accepting especially large bribes and money laundering.
