Snow, Blizzard, and Black Ice: Which Roads Are Closed Right Now
Emergency services report that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads within the territory of Armenia.
The roads from the «Amberd» high mountain meteorological station in Aragatsotn Province to Kari Lake and Amberd Fortress are closed.
The Berd-Jambarak road is closed to all types of vehicles.
The Vardenyats Pass is closed to trucks with trailers due to snow and a blizzard, making it difficult for other vehicles to pass.
The Spitak serpentine is closed to cargo vehicles, while the Dilijan serpentine is difficult for trucks.
There are patches of black ice on the roads in the Alagyaz region.
In the Aragats region, it is snowing in the Goraik-Zanger section, as well as in the cities of Abovyan and Hrazdan.
There is a blizzard on the Shinhuyar-Harjis road segment.
Drivers are advised to use only winter tires.
Regarding Lars, according to information received from the Emergency Management Department of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed to trucks.
