Lavrov and Fidan Hold Telephone Conversation
The foreign ministers of Russia and Turkey, Sergey Lavrov and Hakan Fidan, discussed the situation in Syria. This was reported on Thursday by the Information and Press Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This is already the third telephone conversation between the Russian and Turkish counterparts in the last two weeks.
“During the discussions that took place between the Presidents and Ministers, the situation in Syria and its surroundings was addressed. An agreement was reached to maintain close communication on current bilateral, regional, and international issues, including the Middle East and Ukraine,” the official statement on the Ministry’s website said.
The Ministry emphasized that the partners touched upon several issues on the bilateral agenda and “confirmed the importance of close coordination of actions” to implement the agreements of the leaders of Russia and Turkey, Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
