We Have Always Said That We Are Ready for Them: Putin
Moscow is ready to engage in talks regarding the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“As for the negotiations, we have always said that we are ready for them,” said Putin. He noted that the West should compel Volodymyr Zelensky to lift the ban on negotiations.
“As is known, the head of the regime in Kyiv issued an order to prohibit negotiations when he still had considerable legitimacy. And now, how can negotiations be resumed if they are prohibited?” the Russian president stated.
According to Putin, the existence of such a ban makes the possible outcomes of negotiations illegal. “Moreover, the Ukrainian leadership is also illegal at this point. This circumstance is fraught with a legal conflict of interest and will devalue any outcomes of the negotiations,” he said.
