Deputy Foreign Minister Discusses Armenia-EU Negotiations
The start of Armenia's process to join the EU is a remarkable civic initiative. This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister Paruir Hovhannisyan during the final conference titled 'Promotion of Armenia-EU Strategic Partnership Based on the Experience of the Visegrad Group,' organized by the Armenian Institute of International and Security Affairs.
'This initiative began precisely from civil society, and the parliament responded to it. Perhaps the situation is even more problematic now, unfortunately, but if we have the proper will and support from EU member states, I believe we will be able to achieve positive results,' he said.
He also noted, 'We have almost finalized negotiations with the European Union on our new priority agenda. We will organize a relevant meeting with civil society in the coming weeks to present the results.'
It is worth reminding that in September 2024, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan announced that Armenia and the EU are negotiating a new partnership agenda aimed at expanding cooperation in the fields of democratic reforms and ensuring socio-economic stability.
