Number of Artsakh Residents Granted Armenian Citizenship
More than 5,500 individuals forcibly displaced from Artsakh have received Armenian citizenship. This was announced in an interview with Sputnik Armenia by the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia.
“As of December 25, a total of 6,724 displaced individuals from Nagorno-Karabakh have applied for Armenian citizenship, of which 5,510 have been granted citizenship in accordance with a decree from the President of Armenia,” the Migration and Citizenship Service reported.
In just one month, the number of Artsakh residents who obtained Armenian citizenship has increased by approximately 1,100.
The presented statistics do not include minors. When parents obtain citizenship, their children automatically receive it through the passporting process by law. No additional procedures are required for individuals under the age of 18.
Previously, it was reported that as of November 28, a total of 6,338 Artsakh residents had applied for Armenian citizenship, with 4,394 displaced individuals from Artsakh having been granted citizenship.
