"Opportunities to Reassess Previous Mistaken Approaches" - Iran's Foreign Ministry
Iran has a "bitter experience" of interactions with the U.S. presidential administration, but the upcoming U.S. presidential elections present an opportunity to reevaluate and reassess previous mistaken approaches, said Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei. This comment comes in response to Donald Trump's victory in the presidential elections on November 5, as reported by IRNA.
"The responsibility for the U.S. presidential election lies with the people. Now the people have made their choice. These elections are an opportunity to reassess and reevaluate the previously applied mistaken approaches," he stated.
Previously, Iranian government spokesman Fatemeh Mohajerani mentioned that Tehran is not concerned about who will become the next U.S. president. According to her, changes in Iran are not anticipated as a result of a change in the American administration.
During Donald Trump's first presidential term (2017-2021), the United States withdrew from the nuclear deal with Iran. Later, he called this a significant decision. In 2024, while running for president, Trump claimed that Iran was preparing an assassination attempt against him. Iranian authorities have denied all allegations.
