I Am Extremely Dissatisfied: Anahit Bakhshyan on the October 27 Case
The widow of former Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Yuri Bakhshyan, Anahit Bakhshyan, in a conversation with reporters, addressed the government's promises to uncover the events of October 27, stating: “It seems that making promises is easy, but fulfilling them is difficult or undesirable, I don’t know. Because when they want to, they reveal the terrorism that was prepared by a certain group even during Serzh Sargsyan's and Nikol Pashinyan's times. Twenty-five years have passed, but the events of October 27 remain unresolved; I see a lack of desire, and I cannot say what it is conditioned by. I am extremely dissatisfied and want to scream with all my being that the current state of our country is a consequence of October 27.”
“A year ago, I asked the Speaker of the National Assembly why the National Assembly Security Commission does not hold a closed session and investigate what was done; at that time, the case was with the NSS, and nothing was done. Now the case is with the Investigative Committee, and just days ago, when Kyaramyan was at the National Assembly, no deputy asked, ‘Mr. Kyaramyan, since February, this case is under your jurisdiction, what have you done?’” Anahit Bakhshyan stated in an interview with reporters in the National Assembly courtyard.
When asked how much Nikol Pashinyan has changed and whether she is disappointed in him, Bakhshyan noted, “I have many opportunities to be disappointed.”
