Ararat Mirzoyan on Developing Events in the Middle East
Armenia cannot encourage or welcome any escalation. Today, during a panel discussion at the security forum in Warsaw, Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated in response to a question regarding Armenia's concern over the increasing tension in the Middle East.
"We are doing our utmost in Armenia to achieve peace in our region. Here we see that neighboring countries are launching missile strikes against each other; of course, we are concerned, and we cannot encourage or welcome any escalation," noted Mirzoyan.
The head of Armenia's foreign policy agency expressed hope that this conflict would be resolved as soon as possible. It is worth noting that in recent days, Israel has been intermittently shelling Lebanese territory. On October 1, Iran launched a missile strike against Israel, with at least 400 ballistic missiles fired towards Israeli military targets.
Israel's channel 9, citing Tsakhal, reported that the missile strikes would have consequences. The IDF has promised a devastating response in such a case.
