Israeli Chief of Staff Confirms Military Operations Plan in North
The Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, Herzi Halevi, has confirmed a plan for further military operations in the north of the country, where soldiers have been engaged in skirmishes with fighters from the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah for nearly a year, according to The Times of Israel.
The plan has been approved against the backdrop of escalating tensions at the Israel-Lebanon border. Israeli media have not specified exactly what the new plan entails.
On September 19, the Israeli Air Force carried out strikes against Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon. In retaliation, Hezbollah fighters have targeted Israeli positions along the border with rockets and drones.
