Presidents of Russia and Iran to Meet
The President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, will attend the BRICS summit in Kazan, where a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled. The information was announced by Iran's ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali.
“Yes, I believe he will participate in the BRICS summit in Kazan. We are currently preparing for this visit to make it beneficial and successful for our bilateral relations,” said the ambassador in response to a relevant question. “Regarding bilateral relations, a meeting with the President of Russia is planned, as well as bilateral meetings with other leaders, the Iranian community, and a speech at the summit,” he added.
As of January 1, 2024, Russia has taken over the presidency of BRICS, which will continue until the end of the year and will include over 200 events covering a wide range of topics. The main event of the presidency will be the BRICS summit in Kazan in October 2024. Iran joined BRICS on January 1, 2024.
